Shanghai Hansen Investment & Development Co., Ltd. is a state-owned foreign trade company under SHANGTEX. Its predecessor is Shanghai handkerchief Import & Export Co., Ltd. established in January 1982, which was renamed as "Shanghai Hansen Import & Export Co., Ltd." later. In February 2002, after another RMB 100 million was registered, it was restructured and renamed as "Shanghai Hansen Investment & Development Co., Ltd.". Its imports and exports were less than USD 100 million in 1999, reached USD 156 million in 2005, and exceeded USD 365 million in 2010. This figure even attained USD 530 million in 2011.

Over nearly thirty years of development, the company has continually expanded its business. It has been listed as one of the top 500 foreign trade enterprises nationwide and top 100 foreign trade enterprises in Shanghai in recent 5 years. Awards for export contribution in Shanghai were issued to it for several times. At present, chemicals, products in light industry, artware, electromechanical products, tea, liquor & alcoholic beverage and dairy products have been added to its original business scope, i.e. single textile supply. In addition, it has become a large comprehensive professional foreign trade company qualified for providing overseas labor service. It boasts a well-developed industrial park covering an area of 123 mu in Qingpu District, Shanghai.
